VICTREX™ PEEK 450CA30: a carbon-filled PEEK for demanding structural applications

VICTREX™ PEEK 450CA30 is a grade of polyetheretherketone (PEEK) reinforced with 30% carbon fiber, developed to meet the demands of structural applications subject to high mechanical and thermal stresses. This reinforcement gives the material exceptional stiffness, high tensile and compressive strength, and remarkable dimensional stability, even under continuous load.

 

Mechanical performance and dimensional stability

VICTREX™ PEEK 450CA30 offers:
  • a significant increase in mechanical modulus compared to unfilled PEEK,
  • excellent creep resistance, allowing it to withstand high loads without permanent deformation,
  • a high surface hardness, contributing to wear and abrasion resistance,
  • enhanced dimensional stability in static or dynamic systems.
These properties make 450CA30 the material of choice for replacing metal alloys when weight reduction, chemical resistance, and thermal performance are required.

 

Thermal and chemical resistance and performance in harsh environments

Like all VICTREX™ PEEK grades, 450CA30 retains:
  • excellent high-temperature performance, with a high yield temperature,
  • remarkable chemical resistance to many solvents, hydrocarbons, acids, and bases,
  • low moisture absorption, ensuring consistent performance over time.
Its improved thermal conductivity compared to unfilled PEEK also contributes to better heat dissipation in critical applications.
