VESPEL
For almost two decades, DEMGY has been the official distributor in France for all parts and semi-finished products from the DuPont Vespel® polyimide range. These materials enable us to meet our customers' needs and expectations by mass-producing parts in very high-performance materials.
The DuPont Vespel® range, initially developed in collaboration with NASA, comprises five distinct polymer families. These polymers offer solutions to meet the most stringent requirements in terms of geometry, mechanical, thermal and chemical resistance, as well as wear and friction.
Vespel® key advantages
- Extremely wide permissible operating temperature range in air, from -273°C to 290°C continuous and almost 500°C peak, with high mechanical strength.
- Resistant to thermal oxidation.
- Excellent wear and friction resistance, enabling operation at high pressures and speeds (p.V.): 12 MPa.m/s dry and up to 40 MPa.m/s with lubrication.
- Coefficient of Thermal Expansion (CTE) approaching that of metallic materials.
- Excellent thermal and electrical insulation.
- Very low moisture absorption.
- Excellent radiation resistance.
- Low outgassing.
- Intrinsically flame-retardant (UL 94-V0).
