A graphite polyimide for extreme pressure conditions
VESPEL® SCP‑5009 is a DuPont™ high‑performance polyimide engineered for applications involving high pressures, friction and elevated temperatures. Compared to standard SP grades, it offers significantly improved compressive strength and load‑bearing capability.
Tribological and mechanical performance
The material delivers low friction, excellent wear resistance and very low creep, even during long‑term operation in harsh environments.
Dimensional stability and chemical resistance
With its low coefficient of thermal expansion, SCP‑5009 maintains tight tolerances through repeated thermal cycles and resists aggressive industrial chemicals.
