An unfilled polyimide for high‑temperature stability
VESPEL® SP‑1 is a high‑performance DuPont™ polyimide with no fillers or additives. This allows the material to maintain its properties over an exceptionally wide temperature range, from cryogenic conditions to high continuous service temperatures.
Mechanical performance and durability
The material combines high strength, elongation and toughness, making it resistant to thermal shock and mechanical stress. With no measurable glass transition temperature, SP‑1 retains stable performance until its upper thermal limits.
Thermal, electrical insulation and cleanliness
VESPEL® SP‑1 features low thermal conductivity, excellent electrical insulation and very low outgassing, making it suitable for clean and sensitive environments.
